  • Was President and Chief Executive Officer of GPC Biotech (Munich, Germany and Princeton, NJ, USA) from 1998 - 2009.
  • Previously Vice President of Oncology Drug Discovery and - in parrallel - Vice President of Corporate and Academic Alliances at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
  • Is a member of the board of three other Biotechnology companies.

 

Dr Mark Heffernan, Executive Director, Opsona

  • Entrepreneurial CEO with PhD in Molecular Pharmacology and business development experience.
  • Previous senior management experience in listed Australian Biotechnology Companies.

  • One of the world's foremost authorities in the innate immune system

Dr Mark Andrews

  • Currently a Principal in the Inventages Venture Capital investment team
  • Has aquired over 5 years experience as an Investment manager working in Biotech Venture Capital and has gained a Certified Biotechnology Analyst qualification from the DVFA in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Has several years experience in scientific research from numerous academic institutes in the UK and Germany.

 

Seamus O'Hara, Investor Director, Opsona

  • Co-founder and director of Seroba BioVentures Ltd
  • Former researcher at ICI Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca) and Glaxochem (now GSK)
  • Former commercial manager of the BioResearch Ireland (BRI) centre at Trinity College Dublin and ultimately business development manager of BRI

 

Dr Manus Rogan

  • Managing Director of the Novartis Venture Fund in Basel, Switzerland
  • Has held various positions in IP and Venture Capital for Nestle, Aventis-Pasteur and Novartis.
  • Experience in management of IP, BD and M&A
  • Holds European and French patent lawyer degrees.

 

Mr Florent Gros

  • Managing Partner for Fountain Healthcare Partners
  • Was previously responsible for licensing Elan's products and drug development technologies in Europe and Japan
  • Joined Elan's corporate VC group in the US, where he was involved in the sourcing, screening and management of investments in private and public biotechnology companies
  • Holds an MBA from Trinity College and a PhD in chemistry.
