Research Assistant – Opsona Therapeutics
Opsona Therapeutics is a development stage immunology company, focused on novel therapeutic and preventative approaches to autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The company is specifically interested in the fields of Regulatory T-cells and Toll-Like Receptors (TLR) and is building on intellectual property generated through the work of three TCD Professors; Kingston Mills, Luke O’Neill and Dermot Kelleher, who are also co-founders of Opsona.
Opsona are seeking to employ a Research assistant on a fixed contract for 6 months with an option for permanency
Roles and Responsibilities
Support the activities of the Assay Development group especially with regard to cell culture. Key tasks will include the following:
- Establishment and maintenance of modified cell lines
- Running of cell-based functional assays
- Running of ELISA-based assays
- Teaching techniques to technicians & scientists where required
- Help technician(s) to ensure the smooth running of the lab
- Writing up & reporting of research findings to scientists/senior scientists
- In addition , the RA might be asked to assist with the following techniques (training will be organized if necessary):
- Flow cytometry
- Immunofluorescence/Confocal microscopy
- High Content Analysis
Reports to: Group Leader Assay Development.
Contract term: 6 months
